Hoyt Arboretum has no shortage of volunteers. The Portland Metro area, according to the most recent International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) has nearly one hundred certified arborists! I think that’s great. There is plenty of work to go around, and people love their trees.
Portland Parks and Recreation and the department of Urban Forestry completed their initial street tree inventory project, and now they’ve done the same for “park trees”. Now, as the rains return, I breathe a sigh of relief for the trees of Oregon after another hot and dry summer…
